A (Guilty?) Pleasure
So I’m not sure if I’ve ever touched on this before, but I love books. I don’t mean I love having them, or I love reading them. Its both, its more than that. Ever since I can remember reading, I’ve read, and will probably do so until I’m unable to read them (and I mean with science going the way it is, that really will never happen
).
For the longest time I was very anti-library, mostly because I was single and could buy any book that caught my fancy (I used to go to Chapter’s during a sale and just randomly pick a few books from the table marked “Under $5!” and find some great books occasionally, or a not so great book that I’d read regardless. Once I hit Mom-dom though, it was suddenly a lot more important for that extra money to go to something important, and my need to have a library just doesn’t qualify as one of those things, for now. About 6 months ago I found out the library has classes for toddlers, and since I was going to be at the library once a week, I got myself a library card. It’s been convenient, and a great way to keep Damien busy by borrowing a few Signing Time DVDs. Now the point of my little tiny post just before midnight.
I love getting the emails from the library that say “Hey! That book you asked us to hold for you? Yeah, its here, so come get it since we’ll only hold on to it for a week.” I’ve gotten 3 such emails since the 5th. This means that I had 3 books waiting for me! Three books! For me! To read! (but sadly not to own) And so I convinced Mike that today was the best day to take his pants to the tailor’s to get fixed. It was just convenient enough that there was a library (THE library) in the same mall as the tailors! And so off I went, in the snow (did I mention it was snowing - again? and heavily at that) and dropped off the pants, got my eyebrows waxed (oh how long it has been, I have been gloriously stroking my ‘brows since I got home!!!!) and happily scooped up my books!
What books you may ask? Why these books!!
and
and…well sadly I cannot find an image of the last book I got, possibly since it is still…small label? It was recommended to me by a mom-friend, and lo-behold-ahoy-avast the library had a copy, and it came zooming to me. Infact, I can find hardly anything on the book or the author online. The best I can do is physically type it out on my own, the name of the book, the author, and then maybe I’ll start the online-ination of his fame!!! SO:
Title: Ginny - A Canadian Story of Love and Friendship
Author: Eric J. Brown
If you read thisI’d love to to have a picture of the book, so if you have one without any library stickers on it, please let me know!
I’ll do a review of each book, if I can muster it up, and let you know just how awesome it is to know that I still have another 2 books patiently waiting to be read. (One of which I’m the next person up, and one of which there are at least 14 people ahead of me to get it….oy)
I’m also wanting suggestions for books. I read…a lot, almost anything (I can’t seem to get into the romances, I don’t know if I ever will….) and since the library is practically down the street from me, I can always put a zillion books on hold and walk there to pick them up!!
And on that note, I bid thee Goodnighty!!!
